Cole's Second ER visit.

So, Cole landed himself in the ER today when he wouldn't listen to me when I told him to wait while I went pee and picked up a few things around my room and decided instead to get into my knife drawer and get one of my ceramic knives out to open the package on his own and sliced his finger open. I couldn't get it to stop bleeding, so I brought him to the ER where he glued his finger up. he kept telling everyone that he would never do it again and that His birthday was coming up soon.

he is doing great now..but won't let me take his ER bracelet off.

Update on the Cole Situation...

So, this morning I had an appointment for myself in regards to the Chalazion's in my eyelids (it's basically like a sty but it's deeper into the oil glands that secrete oil to the eye to keep it lubricated) basically what's happening is instead of producing and secreting oil the consistency of Olive Oil, it's massing up and clogging together in some of the glands in my eye, causing bumps along the inside of my eye. I had surgery on my Lower Right eyelid in May and he missed a small sty which has now grown. The other two on my Left eye have Gone down because I've been washing my face twice a day and doing compresses and what not. The one on my Top Right eyelid has remained the same since I noticed it last September. they have me on eye drops to see if it will go away since it worked last time. if that doesn't work. I'll have to have surgery again. here is me after the surgery. you can see the other bumps in the picture (especially on my Left top eyelid).

Now onto Cole. I "had" an appointment for him today, or so I thought, it was actually Tuesday. but the Lady on the phone TOLD me Thursday. which really ticks me off because It made it look like I skipped out on my Son's Appointment and For real, I would NEVER miss my sons appointment on purpose, especially one as important as trying to get to the root of his constipation issues.

It was a relief to have a doctor sit down and listen to my concerns, what she thinks might be going on, she asked me questions other people hadn't, I explained everything I've tried. She also told me that the GE doctor does NOT need to have him cleaned out to see him, so she put in a referral for that but said it might take awhile since the nurse who does the pre-screenings is the only Peds GE nurse in the State. She also has me giving him Magnesium Citrite at night to see if that helps him go. unfortunately, if this doesn't work he will have to be admitted and flushed through his mouth, I am not looking forward to this as it scares me and will be terrifying for him and he's had to go through enough honestly. so please pray that the Mg Citrite helps him. my friend said it really works because she used to have to use it. so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it helps him pass this issue.

I would write more but I've been up since 8 this morning and it's now midnight and I am tired. I will maybe update tomorrow. Good Night!

I think I need to vent.

So, Tomorrow, I have an appointment for Cole to yet again rehash his constant issues with constipation. This has been going on for a VERY long time. since he was a little baby. a few months old...Little. I have gone to the doctors repeatedly and at 15 Months old a doctor he saw gave him Miralax after I made him an appointment because he SCREAMED for 20 minutes while trying to go #2. He is now 3.5 so that is almost 2 years since the first time they would do anything about it. WHY is it so hard for these doctors to recognize that there is actually SOMETHING wrong and I'm not just blowing smoke up their butts. I am sorry. Yes, I do worry about my Children and their health, but why would I make repeated appointments for the same thing if it was NOTHING?!

The last Practitioner that saw him agreed that there was something wrong and that there is an underlying issue. His diet is pretty okay. he drinks PLENTY of fluids and loves fruits and Veggies and he loves peanut butter, eggs and bread. we try not to give him a lot of sweets but we have been trying to potty train him since last year. and rewarding him with a sugar treat is what motivates him to go. So they wanted me to do a Miralax Flush on him. which is basically you mix 48 Oz of water with 8 Capfuls of Miralax and either he has to drink 4oz every 15 minutes or drink it through the day until he finishes it at night. he "SHOULD" pass whatever is blocking him. Not. I've done the flush 2.5 times. and he is still just as blocked as before.

I am extremely nervous for the appointment tomorrow. because the next "step" to clean him out is not pretty. and I am nervous because no one believes me when I tell them there is something going on with my son and because I know as long as he is stopped up the Peds Gastroenterologist will not see him. and what's discouraging? yeah we may be able to get him in after he's cleaned out and get him screened by the GE nurse but what about by the time the peds GE doctor actually GETS here? which is anywhere from 2-3 months before he visits again and we might be into another episode.

I am also tired. Tired because no doctor has taken me seriously. Tired because I feel horrible for What Cole has to go through and Tired because there is nothing I can really do to help him get relief until the Dr's do something about it. because I have tried EVERYTHING available to me without prescription (with the exception of an Enema) and NOTHING has worked.. I am Just Tired.

I am also tired because I am going through yet another Battle with Lincoln and his foot problems. he has what is called a supinated foot. but the physical therapist thinks the problem stems from inwardly rotated hips and she thinks his tibia is shorter than his right Tibia. and so she will not go on with further treatment until an orthopedist can look at him. and then his referral to the orthopedist mentioned NOTHING of his hips. so maybe I can just TALK to the doctor about it. I've been dealing with THIS issue since LJ was 16 months old, too. I don't know if I just have something on my head that says "don't take her seriously, she's crazy" but I'm starting to think I do. but, not anymore, I am going to DEFINITELY start putting my foot down.

Sorry this seems Jumbled. that's how my life is at the moment. so many things are going on. and I really haven't had the chance to organize everything going on. hence, the long absence from writing and keeping people updated. I do have lots of pictures to post and things like that. just haven't really felt up to posting.

What's new with us.

We have been pretty busy lately, not to mention the medication I'm on has made me pretty antisocial the last few weeks. I still do not feel 100% but I'm getting there, cutting down my dose has definitely helped, it has also helped me lose 2 lbs. people may think that just because I was on Facebook chatting with people and leaving statuses that I am 100% myself because THAT is certainly not true. Michael and I have also had been arguing quite a bit, but that seems to have settled down now.

The last time I posted, I was excited because Michael had bought me a new bedroom set. I love it but the novelty and excitement has worn off since I've been getting bruises the size of lemons because I am not used to the bed frame yet:

yes, I know I am pretty much considered Alabaster in color. I am white as a ghost and unfortunately tanning doesn't help, and I live in Alaska which has more overcast days than it does sunny. so... just sympathize about the bruise and ignore my scary white-ness, ok?

we've also been making lots of yummy things for dinner...

Chicken and Broccli Fettuccine Alfredo:

Salmon, Cantaloupe and Roasted Zucchini and Squash:

Pumpkin Pancakes From Wildtree:

The pancakes are actually pretty delicious especially with Real Maple Syrup. I don't particular like Pumpkin but these are not overpowering in taste at all.

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Ermine Frosting:

The Recipe for the cupcakes came out fine. I think next time I'll use a different Cup cake recipe I found. these are good, they just seemed a little off to me, but the post was for a cake and I'm sure that's maybe why. but the frosting is to die for. and don't worry if you don't have a standing mixer, you just have to beat the finished recipe a little longer to let all that it does come together. because of this I beat the mixture on high until I felt it was light and fluffy enough.

We've even had a Snowstorm on 4/22 and now it's been in the 50's and 60's all this week:

Now Cole and I have been out doing some yard work. he's quite the little helper. I even bought him his own gloves while we're out there. I am hoping Michael's friend can come down and help us cut trees down sometime this summer. I would be SUPER excited about that.

The boys have got some kind of virus and I believe I got it and it's turned into bronchitis, I thought I was losing my voice but I've been trying to stay well hydrated and I had difficulty talking yesterday but I'm doing alright today. which is great. I just cough every ten seconds and had to use my inhaler a few times since last night.

I go in for surgery on my eyes on Monday. I have Chalazion on all of my eyelids and my doctor at my eye exam told me it could be because I am blonde and have very pale Skin and so my skin is just extra sensitive, he also told me I could prevent them from coming back by washing my eyes in the morning and at night and making sure that if I do wear makeup to wash it off really well before I go to bed. so that is happening on Monday so I am definitely nervous.

Michael also goes in for his surgery on tuesday. he has Dequervain's Tendonitis. He cannot wait to get it over with. it is causing him a lot of pain. and I probably will be on hiatus next week after his surgery because I am going to have to be taking care of him and the kids and the dog and the house and the cooking...it is going to be a long ride...

anyways.. I should start getting dinner together.... and so I will leave you all with a recent picture of my two babies:

Robot

So Cole has been on a robot kick for about a month now. he talks about robots, he draws robots, he asks me to draw him robots almost 552212 times per day, he likes to watch robot movies, he adores the robot clothes we got him and he drew this really sweet looking picture of a robot that I would expect a 5 or 6 year old to draw. not a 3 year old.. so here is his masterpiece! :)

The Robot kind of looks like a ticked off South Park Character but I am really proud of cole... and he is yelling "Look, Mommy..it's a robot" over and over because he sees it on the screen..

he is cute and most definitely probably a genius!
